The hotel is in the more premium pricerange but is worth every penny. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home with fabulous friendly staff. The room was spacious and had a great bed and shower. All the meals were fabulous and cooked to perfection. The restaurant staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A great place for a romantic break in a fabulous edwardian country house.

Lovely historic hotel with unspoilt quality details of the building and grounds. Staff excellent and very professional and efficient and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere throughout. Nice formal restaurant with good food and very good wines and excellent variety by the glass. Pleasant rooms very clean. Excellent road axcess yet calm pleasant rural location. Well placed for visitors to the Cleveland Hills, n York moors and even the Yorkshire dales. Reasonable prices for the quality offered throughout. An exceptionally well run hotel.

My Daughter Megan and Owain had a wonderful wedding reception at Crathorne Hall. The wedding was such a lovely day and was made all the more special due to the staff and venue. I would like to especially thank Elia who was absolutely fantastic - from helping to take a number of boxes into the venue on the Friday before the wedding, helping to take luggage to bedrooms and just being so very helpful from the Friday - Sunday. He went above and beyond and is an absolute credit to the hotel. To Emma on reception who again was fantastic, ensuring that guests felt relaxed and any questions answered. Again a credit to the hotel. Many of the guests had come from Exeter or abroad and had not been to this area before and all said what a wonderful experience staying at the hotel was and how much they enjoyed the wedding reception. To Aurora who worked with Megan and Owain to help organise the wedding reception. She was very organised, nothing was too much trouble, and again was there at every step to ensure that Megan and Owain had the best day. The decorations and tables were set exactly as requested and looked wonderful. The master of ceremonies Alan ensured the day ran smoothly and again nothing was too much trouble. Finally the waitresses and waiters who served at the reception, evening and breakfast on the Sunday were extremely professional, friendly and helpful and the chef's who provided the wonderful food. We cannot thankyou enough for helping to ensure Megan and Owain had the best day and evening.

This hotel is an old hall and a member of the Hand Picked Hotels group. As it was our Golden wedding celebration we were upgraded to a suite which was huge having its own separate lounge area and a large bathroom. We had an excellent nights sleep in a very comfy bed. When we arrived we were greeted by name at reception and then given a quick tour as this is a large hotel building and it proved very easy to get lost. Although a large building this is reflected in the size of the rooms rather than the number. We had drinks in the bar before dinner where we were offered a complementary glass of champagne to celebrate. This was followed by a course dinner which was very good. The staff were very friendly and very efficient and couldn’t have done more for us to make our stay complete. Breakfast the following morning was also very good and we left having thoroughly enjoyed our stay and celebration

My Mum and I stayed for Christmas 2025. What an utterly wonderful and unforgettable experience. We really felt like we were part of a large family in stunning surroundings (Downton Abbey vibes) Food was amazing and nothing too Much trouble for anyone member of staff. A huge thank you to Christa, Gloria, Lewis for making our stay just fabulous. However thank you to each member of staff too!
